Make up ‘pot pourri’ songs with me
Make up simple pieces with me, made up of different phrases (‘pot pourri’ songs)
- Make rhythms that are different: for example, I go ‘bang, bang, bang’ and you go ‘ba, ba, ba, ba, bang’
- Now hook these rhythms together to make short, simple pieces of music
- Play games where you ask a musical question (such as ‘how are you?’) and I answer (for example, ‘happy’) – use the examples on this website
- Swap over, so I ask the questions and you provide the answers
- Make up new phrases without words and link them together
- Take it in turns to take the lead and to provide the ending (perhaps by slowing down)
