Let me join your band!
Start with a simple drum pattern, that you play with me at first, and then play different rhythms that fit at the same time*
- Then do the same thing while I play a repeated pattern on the keyboard (styles like reggae are good for this)
- Now let’s play a simple melody together on the keyboard: it’s best to have two instruments if possible!*
- Then try playing different parts: let me play the tune I know first before teaching me a simple accompaniment in the left hand*
- Teach me two or three chords on the keyboard that I can keep playing while you sing or play*
- Let me try the same thing on the ukulele*
- Add more people to the band!*
