Help me play short musical phrases on instruments
Help me play fragments of music on instruments – some made up, and some I have heard in everyday life
- Place your hand under mine and show me how to make short rhythms on percussion instruments
- Stick a small tactile marker on ‘middle C’ in a keyboard, and show me where it is
- Help me play simple patterns of three or four notes that start on C*
- Use one finger to start with – show me how to find the notes next to each other by touch
- Encourage me to use my thumb and other fingers too – use either hand
- Show me how to play the jingles, ring tones and other sounds I hear around me*
